Bars And Nightlife - Playa Del Carmen
You can wander through Playa del Carmen well into the night, following the happy-hour trail and listening to all sorts of music from salsa and reggae to 1970s classics. Drinks aren't cheap if you pay the full price, but it's a great way to meet people.
Calypso , Av 5 between C 4 and C6. Cosy local atmosphere and a busy dance floor. Live Caribbean music on Fri and Sat evenings.
Capitan Tutix , on the beach between C 2 and C 4. Jam-packed bar and disco with live music every night (10pm-midnight) and a predominantly young party crowd. The pick-up joint in town, it stays open all night or until the last customer leaves.
Dragon Bar , on the beach in front of the Blue Parrot Inn , C 12 and C 14. Great friendly open-air bar, with live music in the afternoons and tables on the sand. Open until 2am.
Requiem , C 6 between Av 5 and Av 10. Techno club that opens nightly at 10pm. Not very Mexican but if the music's your thing, this is the place for you.
